Maza is known for two things: Idiosyncratic drum’n’bass and peculiar collaborations. Both are to be found on this release, where he teams up with fellow Russian countryman Big-Head (who looks back on a number of digital releases as well). Together they deliver three longer tracks with a backbone of midtempo breakbeats and warm bass coupled with lots of experimental influences: Soothing atmosphere and ethnic samples on „Ngranek“, electro bleeps and affirmative speech on „Phantom“ and a considerable dash of uneasy darkness on „Kraken“. Horizontal dancing below the shoreline!
